Jim PathFinder Ewing is an award-winning journalist, author and organic farmer who lives in Lena, Miss., and operates ShooFly Farm with his wife Annette.
He is president of the Mississippi Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, is East Central Regional Director of Gaining Ground – Sustainability Institute of Mississippi, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Urban Forest Council.
He is the former Vice President of the Board of Directors of Rainbow Whole Foods Co-Op, the state’s oldest organic cooperative grocery, and has served in executive volunteer positions with the state’s largest conservation organizations MS Ducks Unlimited and MS Wildlife Federation.
He is well known for his books (Findhorn Press) on energy medicine that have been published in English, French, German, Russian and Japanese. His books reflect a lifelong study of integrative/energy medicine techniques, and he is a sought after lecturer and teacher.
His background as a writer and editor at The Clarion-Ledger, the state’s largest newspaper, and before that, USA TODAY and the Jackson Daily News in Jackson, Miss., spans more than three decades.
Among his awards, he is a three-time winner of the J. Oliver Emmerich Award (the Mississippi Press Association's highest honor for commentary); winner of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation's Conservation Writer of the Year award; and has won national Best of Gannett, regional Associated Press Managing Editors, and state press association honors.
