Bear Dance to be held in Oxford, Miss., Sept. 20

Our prayers and good thoughts are with all those affected by the recent hurricanes. Our hearts (and Reiki!) go out to the people of Haiti and Cuba, who have been hit twice within 2 weeks and are suffering incalculable losses--as well as those here at home who are dealing with damage or are ready to evacuate once again.

It is a good time for healing work, needless to say! On the Medicine Wheel of the Seasons, the Fall Equinox is the Western Gate; that's where we turn to the light within us all- the good medicine (power), nvwati. The Bear is of the West; its medicine is protection and healing. You have seen those little fetish bears they sell out west, with the lightning bolt on them? That is a symbol of Creator's power of healing and light they carry.

The fall equinox is a time to help bring healing and balance to the Earth Mother, the multiverse and all beings, and it’s a perfect time for us to have Bear Dance.

Equinox nears

According to Allison Rae, Equinox this year gives us a balance in the astrological year:

“Autumn Equinox - September 22 - 11:45 AM EDT; 3:45 PM GMT -- Equinox is a point of balance, a pause in the solar year. Day and night are equal length. Shadows lengthen in the Northern Hemisphere. Crisp, cooler nights signal the change of seasons. In the Southern Hemisphere, new life re-emerges in spring. Astrologically, the Equinox comes when the Sun enters Libra, sign of balance, harmony and peace. And, in case anyone has been feeling uncertain, doing "life review," or had to make sudden changes with things they thought was certain, Allison explains: "Both Jupiter and Pluto change direction in September, stationing direct within a day of each other. Retrograde in Capricorn since early May, Jupiter returns to forward motion on September 7 (or 8, depending on your time zone), allowing for expansion and expression of new forms. Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, has been retrograde since April 2, traveling backward through the early degrees of Capricorn into the late degrees of Sagittarius. He'll turn direct on September 8 (or 9, depending on your time zone) and spend two more months in the sign of the Archer before entering Capricorn on November 11. This is the grand finish of Pluto's dance with the Galactic Center. We'll be absorbing the cosmic download from this historic passage for years to come. Pluto's transit of Capricorn will transform structures, institutions and systems on planet Earth for the next 16 years."
By the time Equinox appears, people should be able to feel their feet solidly beneath them, and be able to see clearly to make lasting changes they need, in balance and harmony.
Equiniox, which is also called Alban Elfed, Autumn Equinox, Autumnal Equinox, Cornucopia, Feast of Avilon, Festival of Dionysus, Harvest Home, Harvest Tide, Mabon, Night of the Hunter, Second Harvest Festival, Wine Harvest, Witch's Thanksgiving, and the first day of autumn, was a holy day among virtually all peoples. Virtually all stone structures of the ancient world in the Americas and Europe show the alignment. It is a time for "going within" as the darkness of night grows longer and, so, it's a time for making the "inner light" brighter. That is what we will be doing with Bear Dance Sept. 20.

All Time, No Time!

If you read my books, then you know this... The power of ceremony is great because it is Spirit power is brought into the 3-D world, not the other way around. A rational, or left-brained way explanation of ceremony is that it exists to create healing power or miracles; but that’s not so. Miracles don’t happen in the physical world. They appear in this world or show up here. The work we do in ceremony is in the Spirit world; All Time, No Time.

By the time something happens in this very thick, syrupy 3-D world, it’s hard to change. The way something happens in this world is that it originates in Spirit world, then makes its way here, where it (people, place, thing, event, whatever) appears, or is born – like we are.

So, to change things, you do ceremony for Spirit world, not 3-D world. When we do ceremony, it’s to catch “it” whatever “it” might be before it appears here. That’s one reason why you can’t quantify (left brain) miracles, which are circular and right brained. The miracle has already happened by the time it gets here. So, if you want a miracle, you have to catch the “thing” whatever it may be, before it happened, so to speak. But that’s what prayer and ceremony are all about.

Everything A Circle

The universe is a circle; everything is circular.

A lot of people on the Internet say,

"Let’s all do ceremony at the same time and it will be so powerful, all of us togther at the same moment!"
That is a wonderful intention.

But in All Time No Time, or the 'really real' world, is circular, it really doesn’t matter at which point on the circle of time that you do your ceremony, only that you do ceremony!

So, if your intention is to join in a prayer with others--you don't have to watch your clock--just participate when the time is right for you--and you will be in synch with the all of the othes.

Creator’s Power Comes Through Miracles

In both of my books, “Healing Plants and Animals From a Distance: Curative Principle and Applications,” which is sort of a “pure shamanism” book, and the latest one, “Reiki Shamanism: A Guide to Out-of-Body Healing,” which combines shamanism and the shamanic journey with the art of hands-on healing, I speak more about these concepts. Everything has Power, with a capital P, everything has life, Creator’s power, Creator’s light, within it. When we do energy medicine of any kind, these ceremonies that we do, we are allowing the Creator’s power that is within every thing to shine brighter, make itself more manifest, allow it to come into the world in the best possible way. And, yes, even healing things that have already happened, through miracles. Remember, it doesn’t matter where on the circle you pray. It all comes around. Only, if it’s a miracle, did you know it? That’s the great thing about miracles. They appear anytime on the wheel, backwards and forwards in time. It is we humans who often get stuck on the pin prick of “literal” time, unable to see the whole circle or its subtle changes. It is through having the right frame of mind, or doing ceremony, prayer, of “allowing” Creator’s Power into our world to change things that “miracles” occur. To Creator, a miracle is an every day thing.

So, what do we do?

We dance. We do ceremony. Remember the circle? We pray for all beings, and we “allow” Creator into our world, accept that all is just as Creator would have it, and acknowledge that Creator is alive and creating miracles – life as usual – in the world. We have only to go with the Flow of Creation. To dance the dance of life that is non-linear, non-rational, circular and filled with faith: Allow, Accept, Acknowledge and Be Grateful. This is good! Osida! The Creator’s way for All Our Relations. Gus dii dada dv ni!

We invite you to join in with us, in our Bear Dance, wherever you may be. It will take place at around 6 p.m. or so Central Time, in Oxford, Miss. But if you don’t think about and don’t pray or drum or meditate or whatever until the next day sometime, that’s fine, too.

Although our Western culture tends to see everything in a linear way--opposing pairs;we see life as a circle. The circle is always moving, changing...so what happens to these discrete opposite pairs within the circle of life? They spin! And blend into each other. In many wisdom traditions, the highest ascension is marked by the disappearance of opposites.
