Deciphering The DaVinci Code (A Book Review, From the Newsletter "Keeping In Touch ..." 2003)

I've just finished reading The DaVinci Code - better late than never, I guess. So many people have asked for my "take" on it, I borrowed a copy and read it. It's a disturbing book. And one, I believe, that should be read. But it should be read carefully!
At the onset, it should be noted that the book is actually about the Illuminati. The Priory of Sion is the lineage of that group.
When reading The DaVinci Code, it should be kept constantly in mind that the Illuminati say one thing to mean the opposite; it's inverted.
If an Illuminati says he's "for" light, then he's really "for" darkness (you find very, very few women Illuminati).
So, the facts of mysticism contained in the book are true; it's the purpose for which they are used that is in dispute.
A good example of the "inversion" or deceit of the illuminati is shown in The Devil card of the Tarot. Depicted are Adam and Eve, with chains around their necks. Above them is the Beast and above him is an inverted pentagram.
Yes, as given in the book, the Illuminati revere the pentagram, for its power, as do all who practice magic, spells, etc., but it's the inverted pentagram that serves them.
Their very name, Illuminati, is illustrative in a way. They are keepers of knowledge, true; hidden knowledge, true; powerful knowledge, true. But their goal is not to illuminate but to keep the world in darkness, retaining that knowledge, power and control only for themselves.
As defined:
-- "The Illuminati has become synonymous with the one world conspiracy. The political organizations they have set up and their financiers have all come to be referred to as the Illuminati. What most people don't know is that (the name stems from) the Luciferic order that was founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt, a prominent Freemason. It was created as a special order within the order of Freemasonry. The order's name, meaning 'enlightened ones' signified that its members had been initiated into the secret teachings of Lucifer, the supposed 'light bearer' or source of enlightenment." (The Insider, Vol. 13)
-- "The Illuminati, also called 'Olympians' and 'Moriah Conquering Wind,' are a 'network' of interconnected 'bloodlines' who call themselves 'The Family' or 'The Circle.' Intergenerational satanism, or more accurately Luciferianism, is their primary belief structure. They consider themselves a tribe set apart, a proud super race who trace their genealogical origin back to Nimrod. By the way, they also believe that they are the designated rulers of Planet Earth." (Uri Dowbenko)
The book gives a pretty good - if slanted -- history of the Illuminati, without calling them that. The Illuminati have roots in the Priory of Sion, the Templars, the Crusades, etc. They have cognate branches which are allied, and layers upon layers of those "in the know," as to their true purposes.
The DaVinci Code exhibits a high degree of knowledge of this network, though exposing only a few features and presented in such a way as to influence the reader to see the Illuminati as kindly if elusive martyrs of ancient and noble purpose. They are not.
Though ancient, and associated with nobility, they have one goal and purpose and that is to subjugate humankind and dominate the masses, through careful control of resources -- money, land, power, governmental influence, ideas. And they do this through careful control of bloodlines (even tracing descent through Jesus and Mary Magdalene), or "blue blood."
Hence, the Illuminati often are not in the limelight themselves, but rather the puppetmasters of those who are in the public eye.
The Illuminati are "the man behind the curtain" in Oz, while humankind is generation after generation of Dorothys in search of ruby slippers.
In short, the Illuminati "are" the Vatican; the Illuminati "are" the leaders in government, the Illuminati "are" the ones who suppress and have suppressed (raped) the Divine Feminine, even as they put it on a pedestal (to be defiled and, thus, make their conquest even greater). And the Illuminati "are" the controllers of the media, including publishing houses.
It's not "total" control. They are too few to have that; but enough to influence the masses, create ideas, controversies, wars.
And the Illuminati do have a dark purpose.
So, The DaVinci Code itself can be seen as both an expose and a means to indoctrinate and manipulate mass opinion in the way the Illuminati would desire. It is quintessential "disinformation" -- true enough to be believed, revealing enough secrets to bolster its claims, but shaped in a way to further its ends -- even villifying a portion of itself (a branch of Catholicism) to provide a straw man or deceptive target to divert criticism.
It should be remembered that in the book, the kindly, grandfatherly figure that is the grand master of the Priory of Sion is, in fact, the chief priest of the Illuminati.
You will note that the book describes a pivotal event for the granddaughter when she saw him participating in a secret rite. But it only gave the description of the rite and was rather sketchy as to its purpose. And a thread throughout the book is explaining the rite in such a way that both the granddaughter and the reader come to admire the grandfather for his status and knowledge. It's a slick literary device.
The rite is indeed accurate; it's ancient and it's practiced among Illuminati. The ritual itself is, in fact, of ancient origin and is found in all cultures in various ways, including ancient Judaism.
But you will notice that what is not mentioned in the book is the purpose for this rite. It gives reference to a horned god of fertility. But, to Whom is it directed? And for what? Power for the group? And what kind of power? Control? Victory over "enemies," maintenance of secrecy and deception?
The book doesn't relate the purposes of the ritual (or rituals, they have many) or specifically address the Powers to which the rites and rituals, and allegiances, are directed. It alludes to the Divine Feminine but gives no indication of what or how it figures in to what the Illuminati believe or do - only that they possess this knowledge.
The Illuminati often use positive symbols, such as goddesses, not to learn from, use or emulate their energies of healing, compassion and service, but as symbols of their allegiance to themselves: the subjugation of feminine power and control over the Earth - not to embrace spiritual power, but to manipulate it to control and amass earthly power.
To see the goddess through the Illuminati's eyes is to see her as something to be defiled, rather, a whore, and subject to the control of earthly masters.
The Illuminati (through inversion) publicly revere light and positive symbols to give homage to darkness as a secret code among themselves, and thus mislead onlookers as to their true purpose and the master they serve.
To read The DaVinci Code without being "sucked in" to manipulation, the reader must be somewhat self-possessed (which the Illuminati abhor).
You will notice that throughout the book are secrets and explanations given out in dribs and drabs that are true regarding religion and spirituality. The grandfather himself, remember, is the grand master of a worldwide supposedly spiritual organization that the reader is led to believe is dedicated to keeping and preserving the Truth about Christ and God.
But is there any reference in this book to any of the characters actually practicing spiritual principles?
At no point does any character in this book pray. At no point in this book does a single character profess belief in God, or the Creator, or any goddess, nor is there any reference to any guide, or angel, or higher spiritual being in reverence or as an abiding object of faith and guidance.
There is no profession of belief, no practice of humility, no action with compassion, not even a hint of the existence of inherent wisdom, inner light, guidance by the Creator, or the power of prayer and relying on spiritual wisdom or faith. Or even a reference to human beings joining together in community in spiritual celebration of life, love, light or gratitude.
Not even a hint. Only the outward symbols are given, the names and knowledge of them is revealed, but what practices of commitment and sacrifice are given (by the albino "monk") are twisted, distorted and exaggerated to epitomize evil.
The plot can be summarized as Good Guys Illuminati, Bad Guys organized religion and/or practice of spiritual belief. When, in fact, it is the Illuminati that have controlled and manipulated organized religion to "edit out" the goddess truths the book professes the Illuminati adore.
It's a great joke on the people. A coup for the Illuminati, if swallowed. And it serves to promote and support the Illuminati as true keepers of knowledge (while continuing to suppress it, by the way) and organized religion and spiritual practices as false and spiritually bankrupt.
Why? Because those personal spiritual practices are empowering of people. Those are the principles and practices by which the Illuminati are thwarted and rejected.
As an Illuminati priest, for the grandfather to invoke the name of the Creator would be a profanity. Rather the "joke" is to allude to spiritual knowledge and let the reader assume what he or she may, led on by the enticements of mysteries of mind rather than the self-illuminating wisdom of the heart.
For that is at the heart of the distinction between the goals, aims and very reason for being of the Illuminati. Theirs is a world of mind and will, using the tools and symbols of Spirit, to control.
The world of those who actually believe in goodness, light, life and freedom are guided by the inner illumination of the heart, the certainty of faith, and the ultimate victory of the Creator, not knowledge and will alone, as the ultimate power.
In fact, the church has suppressed knowledge of the Divine Feminine, and indigenous people throughout the world have been exterminated, with social and physical genocide, to keep that knowledge suppressed - with the full and knowing support of the Illuminati.
But Spirit can be found anywhere. As Jesus said, "My Father's house has many mansions." All the doorways of religion go to the same place: The abode of the Creator. The Great Mystery is always around us and found everywhere, even in churches!
The church may not need defending, but neither is it evil incarnate. For millions of people around the globe, the church is where spirituality is found, whatever a particular denomination's history or dogma.
And you're certainly not going to find the Creator through the Illuminati.
The Illuminati are correct that we are co-creators of life in the material world. The difference between "true" illuminators and the Illuminati is that the Creator's light belongs to and is within everyone. Knowledge is shared, not manipulated, to empower individuals, not control masses or keep some in power and others powerless.
The power of the Illuminati is that of ego, of earthly power, not Spirit, and the Creator.
This brings us back to The Devil card of the Tarot - the power that the Illuminati serve. It is the card of material, earthly power, with the Beast of animal (not spiritually guided) nature in charge, with its inverted pentacle (spiritual power turned upside down, wrongly used), and the resultant chains around the necks of Adam and Eve.
On that card, though, is a secret. The chains are loose. The faces of Adam and Eve are blank; they are mesmerized by the earthly power of the Beast and its dark magic. At any time, human beings can remove those chains, simply by taking them off. The message: Self-awareness and knowledge of the Divine is the way to liberation.
Be aware: No one need be subjugated. The powers of the Creator, feminine energies, the guidance and light of guides, angels, power animals, higher spiritual beings will and do exist beyond any rational thoughts or manipulations of ideas (ego) in the realm of Spirit and on this plane when allowed with an open, compassionate heart.
That is the very essence of the Divine Feminine. The Womb of God is Life Ever Flowing, the Creative Power Within Coming Into Manifestation, which can only occur with an open, receptive and giving heart through compassion, forgiveness and prayer, birthed in all its myriad ways.
We can choose light or darkness (free will); we can know The Truth by relying on our inherent wisdom, our inner light, the Divinity within.
No one need tell us what The Truth is, and mental knowledge (secrets, mysteries) is not the way to find it. Maybe truths, but not The Truth.
We will be deluded if we only acknowledge the teachings and instructions outside ourselves to guide us.
Are we being misled and misinformed by our leaders, our government, our religious institutions, as the book implies?
Yes. In matters great and small, to larger and lesser degrees.
That is the power and deviousness of the book. It opens the eyes of the masses to matters that are already coming out and being known. But it is presented in a way to guide the understanding or application of that knowledge that is coming out to serve and support the Illuminati.
So, why am I not terrified of this book?
It's disturbing, yes. But I also have faith in people's inherent wisdom and in the Creator in ensuring that once the light of Truth is lit, even if half-hidden in shadow as by this book, that The Truth will "out."
Anyone who goes further than simply reading this book and accepting it as true, and actually starts to look deeper, will find that The Truth is far greater than what's presented in The DaVinci Code.
Maybe in the past, when the written word was kept only among the literati, when the powerful concepts, ideas and principles of Spirit were carefully kept and manipulated by hierarchies of churches, priests and kings, the people could be kept in darkness. Even today, with the Illuminati's attempts to control all media and governments, it's a real threat.
But, in the final analysis, that is earthly power and ego, not Spirit, not spiritual power, not the omniscient Power of the Creator, which is infinite and eternal, and particular down to individual atoms.
The Illuminati can control thought, but not inspiration; they can manipulate symbols and ideas, but not inner wisdom; they can control, order and direct armies, masses and the world, but not give guidance that is intimate, particular and real in each individual's life.
The greatest secret in The DaVinci Code is that The Holy Grail does exist.
The Holy Grail is not something outside to be sought, captured, hidden, controlled, revealed or known with the mind or in 3-D reality in any way, but is simply Spirit, the heart, the inner voice of the Creator.
It is the chalice of our hopes and dreams and infinite acts of compassion that is always full and never diminished, always available, never scarce, full of power, not empty, devoid with fear, or lack.
It is filling, fulfilling, always abundant, circular, whole, unifying, nurturing, not linear, exclusive, circumspect, limited, segmented, divisive.
It is the Source.
Itself.
And it is within each and every one of us.
Should we fear the Illuminati?
I don't think so. That is, only if we fear ourselves, in which case, the Illuminati "win."
Should people read The DaVinci Code?
To my mind, people should read it, if only to get an insight into some truths thinly presented as fiction. I hope people do read it, and go on to learn more….
Not to be led, but enlightened, truly illuminated from within, and, thus, possess The Holy Grail the Illuminati would keep a deep, dark secret.
