Riding The Drum in Prayer Workshop
This half-day class teaches a few basics regarding personal use of the drum, based on the experiences of Jim PathFinder Ewing, as outlined in his books.
Prerequisites: none.
This is a half-day demonstration/lecture on the basics of using the drum by Jim PathFinder Ewing. There are no prerequisites.

Being “with” the Drum, versus “striking” the Drum
Healing Drum: Reiki and Heart Energies
Drum Circle: Calling in the Powers
Shamanic Drumming & Riding The Drum in Prayer
In the class, PathFinder will demonstrate for students the basics of drumming as a spiritual practice, as outlined in his books. It is a lecture class with PathFinder demonstrating for students techniques that they may find useful. It is not meant to ensure proficiency, but to introduce the student so he or she can learn at his or her own pace.

“Finding Sanctuary in Nature: Simple Ceremonies in the Native American Tradition for Healing Yourself and Others” by Jim PathFinder Ewing (Findhorn Press, 2007), which describes common ways the drum is used in Native American ceremonies.
“Healing Plants & Animals from a Distance: Curative Principles and Applications” by Jim PathFinder Ewing (Findhorn Press, 2008), which describes the shamanic journey using the drum, as well as gives examples of shamanic journeys.
“Reiki Shamanism: A Guide to Out-of-Body Healing” by Jim PathFinder Ewing (Findhorn Press, 2008), which incorporates the shamanic journey and Reiki as a healing practice using the drum and explains how Reiki is a form of shamanism.
Students are advised to bring a pillow to sit on, a mat or blanket to lie on while journeying, and a pen and notebook to record notes and observations. No drum is required, but you are welcome to bring it if you have one.
No certificate is issued for this course. Tuition is $60.00
